Project Overview

This project focused on designing and developing a mobile application for one of Accenture’s corporate clients, aimed at managing employee expenses. The solution was designed to streamline the expense reporting process, offering a user-friendly and efficient way for employees to track, submit, and manage their business expenses on-the-go.

Key objectives included:

Developing an intuitive mobile interface that simplified the expense submission process
Implementing features that allowed employees to take photos of receipts, categorize expenses, and submit reports in real-time
Integrating real-time syncing with the company’s financial systems to ensure smooth expense tracking and approval
Providing a secure and compliant solution for handling sensitive financial data

Accenture’s goal was to help their client reduce administrative overhead, improve the accuracy of expense reports, and create a seamless experience for employees and managers alike.

Platform & Technologies: The mobile app was developed using Apple technologies for iOS (Swift, UIKit) and Google technologies for Android (Kotlin, Android SDK). A React Native framework ensured a consistent user experience across both platforms.
Back-End & Database: The app used Node.js for the back-end, and data was stored securely in AWS RDS for scalability and reliability.
File Storage: Document and receipt storage was managed through AWS S3 for secure, cloud-based file storage.
User Features: Employees could capture receipts, categorize expenses, and submit reports instantly, while ensuring compliance with company policies.
Security & Compliance: The app ensured full encryption and secure processing of sensitive financial information.

Upon launch, the app contributed to:

40% reduction in time spent on processing expense reports
